Head Coach Dan Davis of Truman State University shared a few tips for players entering the recruiting process. The Bulldogs are an NCAA Division II school that competes in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, and under Coach Davis have an NCAA Regional Championship and NCAA World Series Quarterfinals appearance.

We watch video and then try to see prospects play in person a couple of times.

Personally contact the schools you are interested in, make sure it’s a place you have a chance to play at. Parents making first contact is not a good sign.

Program Overview – Bulldog Baseball

The Truman State baseball team competes in the competitive GLVC, a conference with teams regularly competing for an NCAA World Series Championship. Led by Head Coach Dan Davis since 2006, the Bulldogs have found success on the field highlighted by a 2015 NCAA Division II World Series appearance, but have also built a reputation as a well-respected and philanthropic program.

Coach Davis, a former professional player, has a long resume of coaching experience, including a stint at the University of Northern Iowa.
