Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator Lance Harvell of the University of Nebraska talks about his recruiting process and offers some advice to players with the goal of playing college baseball. The Huskers are an NCAA Division I school that competes in the Big 10 Conference and have a strong winning tradition with multiple College World Series appearances in the program’s history.

Only go to camps where you have a legit chance to play there or where the coaching staff has shown interest in you (not just sent an invite).

Program Overview- Husker Baseball

Led by Head Coach Will Bolt, the Huskers are recent Big 10 Conference champions and continue to uphold their reputation as one of the country’s best baseball programs. With 3 College World Series appearances since 2001 and over 10 Regional appearances in that time, the Huskers play at Hawks Field at Haymarket Park in front of one of college baseball’s most loyal fanbases.

Aside from their beautiful stadium, the Huskers train at the Alex Gordon Training Complex, a $4.75 million facility that serves the baseball and softball teams. The facility is massive, allowing for up 6 batting cages, or can be opened up for live batting practice, long toss, and simulated games.

The Huskers also have a reputation of developing MLB talent. With over 36 former Huskers appearing on MLB rosters, the program has been well-represented at the next level. Some of the most notable former Huskers include Alex Gordon, Brian Duensing, Darin Erstad, and Joba Chamberlain.
